Thread: No laucher on boot or date/time ans user pane

hi first time post long time reader , i've searched , didnm't come mith other centre said.

if boot 11.10 64bit upgraded 11.04 distro no launcher or menu in top right, no network or date/time or user name. frustrating im in hospital , connection 3g dongle, why upgraded 11.10 working

on boot menu top left, saying file , view etc , help

i've used try , find hotkeys bring both launcher , top right menu system, these include pressing meta key (windows key) , various places pointer none users/network/date , time panel.

bit of linux noob can handle command line been while since used desktop @ home had 9.6 on till got bored 1 day , updated 9.10 show compiz effects.

can't install simple compiz can install , use advanced compiz menu#/ seemed strange couldn't have both, small issue not bothered

system, dell insprion i3 model n5510
dual booting win7

can laucher , users/network/date , time panel booting in recovery mode, selecting normal boot don't want doing everytime

or assistance or pointing right way greatfully appreciated, in adance

notice clicking home doesn't show win7 partition use transfer files , music on side , don't want duplicate near 70gb of files haven't space, on , btw got skyrim work on ubuntu, haven't looked on forums yet listed on play on linux

i'm sure other user have had problem, main boot in grub is
faulty, no top left user/clock , no launcher re searched forums said un-install compiz did not look. some compiz settings arn't saved cube rotation or wobbly windows etc, whats unity thing. installed compiz icon seemed nothing

pls!!! driving me nuts had 9.10 set on desktop, im wonderinf if gfx card issue??
