Thread: SAMBA+LDAP as MS Active Directory problem
hello all!
trying setup samba+ldap ms active directory, windows boxes able login samba domain. have 2 questions:
1) in smb.conf file, there variable workgroup, value if name of network domain. workgroup variable refers windows domain or windows workgroup in windows terminology
2) following ubuntu samba+ldap server guide , stuck @ following step:iam stuck @ perl command, returns:code:adding samba ldap objects next, configure smbldap-tools package match environment. package comes configuration script ask questions needed options. run script enter: sudo gzip -d /usr/share/doc/smbldap-tools/configure.pl.gz sudo perl /usr/share/doc/smbldap-tools/configure.pli opened conflicting file , and replaced sid value domain sid, error persists. can me please error?code:global symbol "$sid" requires explicit package name @ /usr/share/doc/smbldap-tools/configure.pl line 350. execution of /usr/share/doc/smbldap-tools/configure.pl aborted due compilation errors.
it should refer windows workgroup in windows terminology. when samba setup properly, server should visible part of workgroup
