Thread: touchpad not working

hi guys, experiencing annoying problem: touchpad stops working of sudden , cannot understand why doing it. have done bit of research, , have found out how around (either bring terminal , run
code:
synclient touchpadoff=0
or log out ctrl+alt+l - think - , log in again). these work, fair enough, remember person posted - seem remember on forum somewhere - said 1 off problem, or sth doesn't happen on regular basis. unfortunately me, happens every time switch on computer, after 2-3 minutes. getting annoying now, wondering if knows how find out is switching touchpad off. piece of software have installed?
have samsung nc10, dual boot (windows xp , ubuntu 11.10) , problem started of sudden , , mentioned, happens every day without failing.
appreciated

install dconf-tools in synaptic. go applications-system tools-dconf.navigate to
org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.touchpad
make sure touchpad-enabled checked.
