hi kinsago,
since wacom bamboo connect pen (ctl-470k) new of october 2011 not yet in kernel. chris bagwell has submitted support third generation bamboopts 3.3 kernel. backported patches 2.6.38 kernel , later in input-wacom-0.12.0. working need @ least natty , @ least input-wacom-0.12.0. reason 2.6.38 kernel limitation is first kernel have mt.h (multi-touch header).
follow instructions in part i. of bamboopt how to. if used ppa has dkms implementation of wacom.ko (the usb kernel driver) needs removed. that's because non-working dkms wacom.ko ppa overwrite new working wacom.ko compile. remove ppa's packages through synaptic or whatever. exception lekensteyn's ppa natty , oneiric cited in note before part i. use input-wacom-0.12.0.
