Upgrade from 4.3 - 4.4 doesn't work

i purchased 4.3 in march. tried upgrade 4.4, 4.3 runs. began have conflicts lr. uninstalled 4.3, 4.4 not load. tried download trial, doesn't run either. no pc settings have changed since installing lr.. downloaded trial cs6 , uninstalled portions didn't think use - during trial... need software running today please.

doesn't work in:

 

  • you double-click on installer , nothing happens
  • you double-click on installer , error message
  • you double-click on installer , installer starts doesn't finish
  • you double-click on installer , seems install when double-click on lightroom 4.4 icon, nothing happens
  • your mouse broken
  • something else?

 

also, operating system?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
