Stop Illustrator opening pdf's(OS X)

hi

 

currently our illustrator artwork saved without .ai exetention our pdf's do, has been fine in past ive upgraded mac os x 10.8 , cs6 cs3, both illustrator files , pdf either open in illustrator or acrobat, ive tryed doing show info > open > change trick when both types of files change due illustrator files having pdf header.

 

how can around this!

add suffixes files. macos evolving , each new release can become more dependent upon suffix. bit haphazard remove suffixes anymore.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
