Thread: Compatibility between libreoffice and openoffice

not directly ubuntu related, guess there people here answer yes/no question:

libreoffice , openoffice compatible?

i'm asking since i'm working on thesis, , use libreoffice on laptop, , openoffice installed on computer on university, , rather avoid nasty surprises (with regard formulas, tables etc.) since switch lot between openoffice @ uni , libreoffice elsewhere, working on same document.

i not sure if compatible sure there may formatting issues, depending on format saved as.

have considered going online such google docs or zoho? both of these decent word processing , eliminate whole compatibility issue.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
