Thread: Grub and Pretty Stripes

hello,

competent computer geek installed ubuntu 10.10 in dual boot setup windows 7.

ubuntu works beautifully. thoroughly enjoying it. however, can't boot windows 7.

boot manager (which believe called grub2 linux) not appear me. after computer displays "hit del bios" screen , detects drives, moves assume grub. see no text, flashing stripes. beautiful colors, other times black , white. they're pretty , all, while dance can't see text or options. after time replaced log in screen. there, works perfectly.

notes:
-my windows 7 stuff fine. located on separate partition on same drive. can access home folder in ubuntu.
-i have up-to-date nvidia drivers ubuntu.
-similar "stripe" problems have occurred other users nvidia cards, though haven't found 1 stripes happen in grub.

i've learned quite bit trying troubleshoot problem. i've learned how install files via terminal, how use ppa (kindof), , how navigate through ubuntu. access windows 7 though.

please reply possible.

on nvidia box have run command:

code:
gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub
and remove comment (#) highlighted here:

# if change file, run 'update-grub' afterwards update
