Thread: how to realise a panel applet?

hi all,
first hope it's right section of forum
i'd develop gnome-panel applet reads output of
code:
spicctrl -f
, number (vaio fan speed), , writes on panel, @ best icon fan!
can program in fortran , c, perhaps things written in python, right?
perhaps best thing me modify code of sensors applet (which have in panel), in order add fan sensor.
if have tips task i'll glad.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
