Thread: No Audio With Asus P5NE-SLI (ALC883)

ok frustrating me. can't audio no matter try in ubuntu 11.10. seems ok no audio makes speakers. works fine in windows btw. know mb working fine. see online there sorts of issues alc883. can point me right area resolved. @ wits end. have tried alsa.conf file , tried various model= variables, , none have worked. please me fixed! thanks.

i should add running ubuntu 11.10 usb flash drive (try ubuntu) works fine. have figured out the problem happens after install updates pop after initial install. long don't install them well. add installing pci sound blaster live card not produce sound. both work before updates not after. both work in windows of course. breaking alsa or pulse audio completely.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
