Thread: Restoring Desktop graphics to default (like came on the live disk)

i have been running ubuntu (10.04 currently) on 5 years on same machine.

if run machine live disk (usb 10.04) opengl works fine , smoothly. cannot onboard system work well. tell me how reset graphics system default/autoconfig driver , repair it?

understand access live disk , copy config files over, think take little more that.

don't want re-install, have many custom configurations (printers, apache, backup info, routing info , like) want have rebuild all. (not worried /home directory, on drive un-mount)

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
