Thread: USB modem E1261 not showing up

i have tata photon+.....which has huawei ec1261 model....
used work fine couple of weeks back....
now, has curious behaviour.....if restart machine , plug in modem, recognized , able connect....but if safely remove modem , plug in, not show up...it not show if restart machine modem plugged in.....i have tried following solutions:

no avail....

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
