Help! Word Tables are Coming into FrameMaker as Text Boxes

help! converting word file framemaker (fm) same way past 10 years---now of sudden word tables converting text boxes, ahh! open word file in fm, apply formatting & page layouts template, , go through , apply styles, format, etc.---this 2nd time in 2 weeks tables convert text boxes in fm, help! need these docs out asap! thank much.

which version of fm? version of word? have tried rtf instead? immediate fix, try copying & pasting tables word.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
