Linking captivate to excel sheet?

is there way link captivate excel sheet - if person puts in identifying number; captivate jumps set slide? 

 

what i'm trying following:  have excel sheet 2 columns:  column 1 - ee id , column 2 - number 1-30.  when person puts in ee id (and validated captivate), captivate 'reads' excel sheet , looks @ column 2 , jumps set page in captivate project.  doable?

if understand correctly, want person jump particular slide depending on id type box. each id corresponds specific captivate slide, no overlaps. (id #1 , id#2 don't both go slide 4.)

 

normally i'd use advanced action. instead of thinking of things related information in columns captivate has at, think of instructions telling captivate make series of decisions based on whether or not conditions met. person types information in text box, clicks button, , captivate executes advanced action , goes through process of deciding do: "if ee id entered 1, go slide 4. if ee id entered 2, go slide 5. etc."

of course, did i'd normally use advanced action. how you've explained scenario, sounds there many, many decisions combine in 1 advanced action. (at least 30.) these days when things become complicated start thinking of ways use javascript make life easier, either alone or in conjunction advanced action.

 

anyway, first things first. did describe want able correctly, or did mean else?
