Maintaining Photoshop aspect ratios in After Effects
hi there,
i'm new to adobe programs...
i'm having problem when try import 720 x 540 photoshop image after effect @ same ratio. after establishing same settings, image in ae cut off @ sides (along width), if pillarboxed barely. there's outline around image seems maybe closer 720 x 540 aspect ration, don't know how make image fill up.
any suggestions?
i ae comp 720 x 540 square pixels , photoshop file 720 x 540 square pixels frame sizes match. if ae comp not square pixels or photoshop file set non square pixel aspect ratio ae make adjustments , see distortion.
you need learn pixel aspect ratios , need make sure source footage interpreted. 720 x 540 old standard ntsc 4:3 square pixels , fit in 720 x 486 rectangular pixel composition if you're using pre cs version of ae. new standard ntsc square pixels 4:3 picture ratio 720 x 534. translate 720 x 486 frame. unfortunately dv video , dvd formats limited 720 x 480 6 scan lines lost. playback device strips them off anyway there not missed.
to make life easier plan on using standard presets compositions , make of artwork square pixels. ae interpret dv footage may import , maintain distortion free workflow. can use adobe media encoder render deliverable dv or dvd product.
i hope clears things bit. pixel aspect ratios confuse @ first.
