Thread: aptitude issues on armel system

ok have been messing around putting ubuntu distro on android tablet used app linux installer did said in installing linux. chose ubuntu 9.04 because had used version several years on computer. got installed , installed tight vnc , running vnc vnc viewer on tablet can access gui. running icewm.anyway problem forced several packages install without proper dependencies icewm , common files. functions dont want mess when use aptitude gives me errors on dependencies , wont let me else gives me solution of removing icewm dont want want keep using way is.

anyway ultimate question is possible override these errors , make aptitude work anyway?

want install firefox , few other programs without errors or @ least force work.

aptitude gave me issues start with libreadline5 had manually install in order function can manually icewm prefer not to.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
