is there open-source or nonspammy freeware app or plug-in available download audio and/or video content web (e.g. youtube)? used use realplayer on windows, showed pop-up download whenever videos played in web browser (regardless of site or format). installed firefox plug-in easy youtube video downloader, has advertisements , runs , unreliably, , works on youtube. couldn't find chromium or chrome. i'd find can download universally web (at least major formats flash videos youtube). can convert audio files separately on desktop, being able download audio component directly convenient well.

can type in name of band or singer , dish continuous stream of videos. download button allows grab of.

make sure download latest version (not 1 ubuntu repo). think v1.6 ok.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
