Thread: Getting Media Keys to work with Gmusicbrowser?

hey guys, i'm wondering if can me media keys work? worked banshee found bit windows media player , gmusicbrowser has feature i've been looking for while.

if shuffling of songs , decide there's 1 want listen search it? media players have come across play song , stop playing music, gmusicbrowser continues shuffle through collection. feature. if knows of music player please suggest , i'll see if works media keys.

if not me this. tells me in faq
how control gmusicbrowser global shortcuts or multimedia keys ?
have configure window manager execute command gmusicbrowser -remotecmd playpause (in version 1.1.x gmusicbrowser -cmd playpause) when key combination want pressed. replace "playpause" command want, see list of available commands, run gmusicbrowser -listcmd.
if have dbus perl bindings, can control gmusicbrowser though dbus interface.
if use gnome >=2.18, can use included gnome multimedia keys plugin (needs dbus perl bindings), automatically make play/pause, stop, previous , next multimedia keys work.
article explains how configure keybindings in metacity (gnome's default window manger).
im running 11.10 ubuntu , laptop asus n53sv if matters.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
