i have old laptop intel core duo , looking @ /proc/cpuinfo lists 1 processor (attached)!

tried using acpi=off boot parameter, explained on other threads, did not help. 1 thing note laptop boot if use nolapic boot option.

i'm using lubuntu 11.10.
hints going on?

i take mean acpi options changed in ubuntu. may have acpi options in bios.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
