Thread: Problems with Webmin

i have installed webmin on vps running ubuntu server 10.04. can access webmin going https://<my ip address>:10000. however, cannot access going https://<my domain name>.com:10000.

however, able access web server on https://<my domain name>.com:10000.

haven't set iptables of yet. hosts file below (in interest of privacy have replaced hostname foo , ip bar).

code:
127.0.0.1	localhost	foo.com	foo  bar	foo.com	foo    # following lines desirable ipv6 capable hosts  ::1     localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback  fe00::0 ip6-localnet  ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix  ff02::1 ip6-allnodes  ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
is there way can make webmin accessible through https://foo.com:10000, or have keep using exact ip address?

whos hosting domain?

have own dns?
if not very simplest way modify host file of clients,
if want resolution on own network, need either setup own dns or have name registered in dns somewhere.

having foo.com on hosts file on target system wont work.
connecting host needs resolve either own host file or dns thats using
