Thread: Update goes on forever (11.10)

hi! i'm having trouble updating:

1. using sudo apt-get update gets stuck on like
code:
get:67 http://archive.ubuntu.com oneiric/multiverse sources [149 kb]  get:68 http://archive.ubuntu.com oneiric/multiverse sources [149 kb]  get:69 http://archive.ubuntu.com oneiric/multiverse sources [149 kb]
and goes on seemingly forever (i've gotten "get: 190" way, after couple of hours). i'm attaching whole log if of help!

2. using update manager, stays in "updating cache" window forever well. download indicator thingy keeps sliding left , right... doesn't ever stop "failed" or "connection dropped" or whatever!?

i'm not sure start?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
