error when uploading muse site to ftp

my fine muse site displaying incorrectly. when tried re-upload (after re-saving it), got following error message:

 

error creating folder/scripts. click resume try again. if problem persists, try later. [200 type 8-bit binary].

 

when tried re-upload earlier version of site, got same message above [226.0133 seconds (measured here), 84.68 kbytes per second) instead of [200 type ...] bit.

 

i not 'techie'. terrifying me! can help?

are uploading site third party webhost using built-in ftp upload feature? if yes, permission issue @ site; refer following thread possible solution problem.

alternatively, can try exporting site html , upload using ftp client filezilla.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
