Project lost after crashed

i had been working hours on project include several video clips (already trimmed), , when adding titles crashed. when reopened whole project gone. can't find video files imported sony avchd camera. need please!!!!!!!!!

first, have looked under project's folder, autosave files? note: autosave files fifo, last (probably #5, unless changed default), might not latest. change view details, , check dates/times.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
