Thread: Acer hangs on suspend and won't reboot

hello,
i've set 11.04 on acer x1430 desktop pc. works more or less out of box, except suspend / resume.
if test "suspend" 5 mins or so, works should. after longer periods however, resume impossible, , have power-off 5 second push on button.
worse still, after this, computer not restart. push of button gets little blue light that's all: no signals monitor, no fan, no nothing. way bring things life, unplug power cable , press on power button 30-60 seconds (reinitialising, removing static...?).
time being, i'll avoid suspend, , admit i'm not happy testing many solutions, given way computer behaves afterwards!
ideas on debugging appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
