Thread: Can I remove dhclient

when give command 'sudo netstat -apute' check applications connected network, shows 'dhclient' there on system running ubuntu 10.04lts. not there on other system, running ubuntu (later version, think 11.04 or 11.10).

can remove 'dhclient' without untoward effect? , how can remove it?

i running 11.10 , have dhclient installed, may want double check whether don't have it. anyways, dhclient responsible dynamically assigning ip address computer. if using dynamic ip addresses instead of static ip address better keep on system.
