Thread: Hanging on boot - Toshiba L770D

i've been attempting 11.10 installed , working on toshiba l770d laptop last several days. getting black screen upon launch of installer, able past using nomodeset. after figuring out, , attaching external mouse mouse work, did installation complete successfully.

current problem won't boot. displays 'hci_cmd_timer: hci0 command tx timeout' several times, hangs.

also, have edit grub add nomodeset each time start boot without going black screen. appreciate in doing permanent fix, although assume need boot first.

i've had linux installed on several desktops , laptops, no means linux expert. appreciate help. thanks!

i having similar problem toshiba l770d ubuntu 11.04. trying install 11.04 because have running on older toshiba laptop l355d without issues. did have initial issues wifi under 8.04 on l355d, once upgraded 11.04 have not had issues.

when try boot system dvd image black screen when booting dvd. see grub screen, nothing. advice appreciated.
