Thread: Lenovo B570 with Broadcom 4313 wireless issues

hi purchased lenovo b570 laptop windows 7 , dual booted linux mint 12 (11.10) having lot of problems getting wireless card work, card broadcom 4313; tried virtually work followed numerous posts different answers.

said blacklist acer driver, did not work me
tried install broadcom sta drivers synaptic manager, did not work
tried use windows driver program, did not work
tried install wicd , remove network manager, did not work
numerous other terminal actions, rebooted after each, restored mint if couldnt repair

finally, reinstalled mint, installed updates update manager, installed broadcom driver, installed wicd (important not remove network-manager), rebooted, , worked!

hope helpful, if didntt follow these steps not work me. repairing things have removed via synaptic manager or terminal did not work, must use fresh install.

moved other os/distro talk.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
