Thread: OpenOffice vs. LibreOffice - From A Writing POV

i hope right forum question. if not, apologies mods.

anyway, switched windows last november lucid. i've been using ms office ages. , use office suite creative writing.

of say, disappointed in ooo. hoping new , wasn't used it, after 2 months it's still awful. system creating keyboard shortcuts clunky, , doesn't allow make shortcuts functions (like small caps text). navigational keyboard commands not used (for example, if i'm trying highlight large sections of text, using keyboard navigation commands along shift highlight things drops highlighting entirely, sort of undermines point). text effects, drop caps, either aren't displayed or don't work in first place. auto-correct works whenever feels working, , not respond customization. , not me started on irritation creating tab stops , things using rulers.

basically, i'm kind of hating it.

question is, libo better @ doing of stuff, or same? or, if same, more improve on of these things sooner? politics of libo better ooo. on other hand, maybe it's me. have not found right tutorials yet, , i'm doing these things hard way?

to frank, have not learned ooo or liboffice--i think there no better office suite out there ms office--hands down. may try other prop office versions oracle (staroffice--variant of ooo) or symphony ibm--not sure if still around.
