Thread: vlc can't play hd videos

hi all. using ubuntu oneiric in hp pavilion dv6 laptop ati mobility radeon hd 4530 (fglrx driver) , intel dual core t4300 @ 2.1ghz. problem when try play high definition mkv file either 720p or 1080p in vlc or movie player video laggy , slow. can me find solution or laptop can't play these types of videos. in advance.

install xvba-driver , enable gpu acceleration in vlc>inputs , codecs.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
