i wanted play prank on sister didn't work , thought i'd ask why not.

on local machine type
code:
find / | zenity --progress --pulsate --text "erasing hard drive - please wait"
it works, , pulsating dialogue box, hard drive using "find" , it's going wild, if it's being erased... "okay, good" think

ssh sisters machine , login her

know ssh need provide display command also, do
code:
display=:0 find / | zenity --progress --pulsate --text "erasing hard drive - please wait"
but says cannot open display.
tried moving display command on next zenity instead of find, still doesn't work.

also, find ends bit soon, way make last bit longer?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
