What does the error message "Bad parameter - bad /Widths" mean?

in trying add bates numbers multi-page file, numbering proceeds same page, stops error message  "bad parameter -- font 'opsufont0' contains bad/widths." mean, , how correct it? page not accept bates number.

got document same problem (acrobat x):  "the font 'opsufont0' contains bad /widths."

printing , rescanning offending page has been past solution.

 

took closer using preflight > analyze > overview > fonts --- difference other fonts in document "font defines differences base encoding"

when clicked upon, goes page , there little place delineated blue lines.

problem isolated -- how fix it?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
