Which file size to believe? 3 different choices from Media Encoder, Encore & ISO?

hi,

 

i encoded project premiere hour , 50 minutes. exported timeline media encoder , got estimated file size 19gb. (this blu-ray disc).

 

i encoded , looked @ hard drive saved , said file size 16.5 gb, lot smaller estimated 19 gb.

 

i imported encore cs 5.1 project, had menus , music on menus, timeline, , went build menu in encore @ file size now. said 20.5 gb.

 

lastly, made iso file of project , came out 22.5 gb

 

which file size believe?

 

from on, think can encode timeline premiere media encoder 20 or 21 gb. tops. knowing going liittle larger once bring it encore.

 

the iso file seems biggest , maybe 1 trust.

 

any thoughts or solutions on problem?

 

i know encore has file size bug, how other people deal problem.

i don't know how ame reports estimates, , have not tested iso size, here info did last time tried understand encore , disk sizes. done dvd, believe same issues present bluray + issue of whether encore "padding" predictions.

 

fyi, belief iso fills disk when image burned, large copy disk. can't assume size of iso file same final dvd/bluray content.

 

basically, encore says tracking gb in build panel, tracking bytes. dvd called "4.7 gigabytes" 4.38gb - 4,706,074,624 bytes. gigabytes, divide 1,073,741,824 (1.024 * 1024 * 1024). 4.38.


what means if read file size 3.9gb, 4,187,593,113 bytes. make confusing within encore, encore reports file in project panel 3.9gb. when lists amount of disk used , free in build panel, reporting bytes "gb" after it.


i did no menu test 1.69gb m2v , 41.5mb ac3. encore reports 526kb of rom used (the size of empty rom), used 1.91gb, , 2.79gb free on 4.7gb disk. (remember these bytes.) built folder, encore reports writing 1.89 gb (really bytes), , actual output folder size 1,891,278,848.


my recollection may have been bluray subject of comments encore padding predictions of size on disk. seeing here (for dvd) no padding.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
