In CS6 how do I center text please!

how print in cs6 , centered on page. got ctrl+t  , see middle of page, pulled on handle center on page when go type on center line...the type moves , text goes right. old cs4 let me type , long started in center of page type move , center itself.

hi,

 

did try enabling center text in type alignment options before entering text?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
