Line Height inside a text field

i have text field text scripted entered when button on form pressed. how line spacing size between paragraphs space of 6pts (or whatever size) choose when font size 12pt? baseline shift doesn't seem work this, nor span style font size change 6pts, or don't know how script it.

the red line near top small text line trying make blank , @ 6pts. thanks!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
