Thread: 10.10 to 11.10 install and ubi-partman exit code 10 advice needed

i'm running aspire 1 d255e, dual boot win 7 , ubuntu 10.10. decided change 11.10, not upgrade clean install, keeping win 7 partition. burned liveusb, played around bit, runs fine off usb. when try install, after preparing install screen, message:

ubi-partman failed exit code 10

i'm working way through google results sure help/advice. i've tried f6 , checking nodmraid @ first of install, didn't work; may not have done right, looked pretty simple.

ideas?

nm. tried create liveusb using startup disk creator, outlined on ubuntu download page. run fine, not install.

found site suggesting unetbootin create liveusb instead. used .iso i'd downloaded, , worked charm. don't know why make difference, did.

hope might helpful might have similar problem , stumble across this.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
