Thread: Black screen at the login screen

hi


installed 11.10 on imac, using parallels desktop. fine until few hours ago when decided try @ login use kde plasma desktop. bad decision indeed.

now, login screen black, except fraction of second when toggle full screen. login box appears 1 half of second doesn't give me time start typing password.

have scrap ubuntu install or there can done salvage ?

just bumping this...



no 1 ?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
