Thread: Keyboard brightness mapped to a special character

increasing brightness using keyboard types special character '±'. 1 can imagine, extremely annoying. keyboard shortcut increase brightness on lenovo ideapads (fn + arrow)

using 11.10 (though problem has existed in previous version of ubuntu) on lenovo v460.

know not person issue , fix or workaround appreciated.

fixed problem using udev, seems rules no longer working or something.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
