Thread: Network connection and padlock

hi! 01/12/12
have ubuntu 10.04 , ultimate edition 2.7 , strangest thing going on.

in network manager connection internet green , says "connection established" however; there yellow padlock attached green connection icon.
here have tried:

went : application> accessories> passwords , encryption

right clicked , entered in old password , left new 1 blank member our forum mentions in post do- didn't change anything-

browser says : " server not found"
tried '"chromium browser" , still " server not found"

makes no sense because able on windows xp side of partition come here , communicate forum , other surfing well.

old cricket (usb modeswitch) had year ago have in memory on linux side causing kind of block?

cavalier , wireless modem working fine.

i'm sitting here scratching head , baffled-

think going on? , how fix this?
have ideas?.....i'm puzzled-

after troubleshooting online.
typed in key in authentication window clicked connect , shut down computer.
rebooted , ubuntu went online w/o problems.
network manager bit buggy @ times.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
