Thread: New to ubuntu, trouble with TestDisk

hello all, , sorry if isn't right thread :s it's not "newbie" question

trying dual-boot ubuntu 11.10 (win 7 64bit native) , in sleep deprived state deleted "odd looking" partition secondary hdd thinking virus. of course, games i'd installed drive somehow caused os f###ed point comp doesn't think there os @ all.
thought no big deal recovering testdisk hasn't found anything. did full search took several hours nothing has appeared.
nothing has been written hdd since deleted partition (to knowledge. virus?).

further info:
- win 7 installed ssd, partition deleted on secondary hdd. have 2 hdds , 1 ssd total.
- keep getting message in ubuntu "hard disk problems detected" pops hundred times in row, , says ssd "being used outside design parameters" possibly because it's ssd? or maybe source of problems?
- running ubuntu 11.10 micro-sd usb, optical drives won't appear in bios (partly why thought had virus)
- 3 internal storage devices on sata3
- might unrelated, had reinstall ubuntu sd card after partition deletion because randomly stopped working. had tried booting other comps it, hung @ ubuntu logo boot screen.

@ least, can recommend different program might work?
please me save baby!

specs: i7 2600k @ oc'd, asrock extreme6 mobo, nvidia geforce gtx 570, 4x4gb g.skillz ripjaw, ocz agility 3 ssd, seagate baracuda green 2tb, seagate baracuda 1tb (has deleted partition).

could of issues i've mentioned cause of virus? i'm surprised i'm not getting feedback @ all...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
