Thread: Unity Launcher Problems in 11.10 with Dual Screen

i have ubuntu 11.10 running on office pc new unity launcher (i'm not sure of exact terminology, 'as comes'). having got used new style on work machine, decided set on home box too.

machine has dual monitors, nvidia card. i've never had trouble setup until now. allow me elaborate:

  1. minimised windows can impossible back.
  2. the launcher (left hand task-bar/window list remplacement) won't open if window "fullscreen" when bash mouse on left screen side - works on office pc (as expected)


main computer , ubuntu operating system; has been ubuntu's life. understand dual-monitor systems cause major problems @ moment, , addressed in 12.04, time being, there can help?

appreciate advice it's driving me mad!

alt + tab or super +w or clicking on minimised app icon doesn't work ?

try installing compizconfig-settings-manager, press alt + f2 , run command about:config, what's hide launcher set ?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
