how u upgrade rom?

rom stands read-only memory. can mean lot of things (eg. cd-rom)

guess mean how upgrade firmware of motherboard (also called "flash bios")

can find needed info on motherboard maker website.

if still can't figure out, post maker , model of motherboard, , possibly bios version.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
