Thread: The good old wireless problem.. plz any1

helo here!

first have done tonns of research before post or ask.
sadly out of ammo , need lifting hand.

popular intel pro ipw2200 wireless problem.

indeed did research downloaded 3.1 firmware , copy /lib/firmware/.. , there was.. wireless worked!
after tweeking wanted apt-get update... after that.. wireless did not show in wicd network manager.

have try'd everything... formated (gparted) reinstalled 4 times , repeated 3.1 firmware copy make work again.... guess what.. nothing works again.

getting...

root@bt:~# dmesg | grep ipw
[ 15.002828] libipw: 802.11 data/management/control stack, git-1.1.13
[ 15.002836] libipw: copyright (c) 2004-2005 intel corporation <jketreno@linux.intel.com>

[ 16.028746] ipw2200: detected geography zzd (13 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels)

firmware looks in place

root@bt:~# ls -al /lib/firmware | grep ipw
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 191154 2009-03-11 21:17 ipw2200-bss.fw

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 12007 2009-03-11 21:17 license.ipw2200-fw

eth1 shows up... when doing ifconfig
