Thread: How to change hostname in Lucid

some off lucid systems revert original hostname whenever try change it.

run hostname command, edit /etc/hostname, , change /etc/hosts, yet old hostnames tend persist.

there script or setting causing them revert?

my understanding must change hostname in

/etc/hosts

/etc/hostname

, execute

sudo hostname -f /etc/hostname
