Thread: Multiple Graphic Card with multiple monitors

hello there,

newbie, after install ubuntu 11.10 try set multiple monitors using nvidia x server setting.

first:
video cards 2 (two) - nvidia geforce gts 250.
monitors asus s211hl(main monitor) , dell 1704fpt (second monitor).
(each monitor plug each card)

on nvidia x server setting try this:
on xserver display configuration, set second monitor configuration "separate x screen (requires x restart)" option. doesn't allow me change "twinview".

after changing configuration "separate x screen (requires x restart)", click on "save x configuration file". believe saves setting xorg.conf file. after restart machine. when boot up, second monitor white , when move mouse second monitor, cursor change x , can not drag second monitor.

question going on? why doing that? because of each monitor plug each video card? has in "twinview" make work?

need little here. if need @ xorg.conf believe can post it.

thanks,
valter479

you don't need 2 graphics cards use 2 monitors, remove 1 graphics card , connect both monitors remaining video card. should able setup twin view.

if have use 2 graphics cards whatever reason, make sure drivers each card configured in /etc/x11/xorg.conf
