with xfce on 10.04 , using proprietary drivers ati, youtube videos freeze and/or choppy. html5 video work. when change open source video drivers, youtube videos play fine hdmi 2nd monitor don´t work , temperature rise 9°c 64°c.

if use gnome instead of xfce, youtube videos play fine proprietary or open source video drivers problem arise when try use xfce proprietary drivers.

there work around problem?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
