Black arrow sometimes selects frame and sometimes the image? (why the image?)

in previous version of indesign, black arrow selected box moving, resizing, etc.; white arrow let me select image moving , resizing within box.

 

in id cs6, black arrow selects box, (and more i'd wish), selects image instead of box. (why?)

 

if click on outside of box, black arrow select it, not easy thing do. prefer black arrow work way used to. not find in preferences dialog box it. did miss it?

are clicking on content grabber (looks donut) in middle of frame? if so, , you'd not have active can turn off under view > extras >.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
