How can I afford to use Photoshop when it costs $600/year?

i hobby photographer.  have used photoshop 4, 5, , 6.  using photoshop has cost me $100/year or $200/2 years.

 

i, true of many hobby photographers, have enjoyed using ps edit images. use ps creative suite.  use functions  ps provides, such as, layer masks.   seems must stick photoshop 13 (cs5) , hope there addons keep current.  other suggestions?
