Strange preview behavior

i have text box in header on brand new site master. every time go preview, text box jumps down body section. line , graphic in header not move. have taken every other element off page , text box jumps down. have no idea causing behavior. have deleted box , remade several times. i'm using web fonts -- several types. driving me crazy.

 

any appreciated because othewise program useless.

we have same problem image. put image header in template , automatically goes body on pages use header... needed!!!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
