Thread: freezing

hi all,
im new ubuntu (and linux), wanted try out,
have problem.

have windows 7 (64bit) on pc , installed linux next it.
wanted install on seperate disk choose wrong option @ installation, that's not real problem.

problem whenever i'm using ubuntu 10-15 minutes,
freezes, can't move mouse, can't anything,
, screen turns off, pc still on.
seems kind of problem graphics card maybe?
have amd radeon hd 6800 series graphics card.

wasn't sure if chose right .iso.

have intel core i7-2600 cpu , used standard
ubuntu 11.10 desktop amd64 (even though don't have amd cpu)
don't know if that's problem.

hope can me.

welcome ubuntu. have tried see if there additional drivers graphic card. additional drivers located under system settings. make sure have install current updates using update manager.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
