Thread: How do you set remote control buttons for programs?

hi,

remote works 'out of box' didn't install lirc, came asus cinema-p7131 hybrid.

how can configure button presses different programs?

e.g. remote press "1" in vlc = play
e.g. remote press "1" in xbmc = stop

many

when works "out of box", program[s] work?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
